Welcome Ashore, an international initiative that seeks to strengthen cooperation between the cruise industry, local authorities, businesses and communities, with the aim of creating substantial and mutual benefits for destinations, was presented yesterday at the Dodecanese Chamber of Commerce in the context of an event-conference entitled: “Welcome Ashore | Rhodes – Cruise and Local Communities: Creating Shared Value for Island Destinations”.

Speakers included the Greek ambassador to the Welcome Ashore initiative, Anastasios Konstantaros, the president of the Municipal Port Fund of the Southern Dodecanese, Vasilis Vagianakis, and Maria Deligianni, regional director for the Eastern Mediterranean of the Cruise Lines International Association – CLIA, who provided important information on the issue and highlighted its significant dimensions in local communities.
